More tinkerering with wrecks:). I kicked off with Da5id's fantastic Rhino clone and slotted in the hatch from OutOfStep's Ground Plunderer. Next, I crafted the interior of the Rhino (OpenSCAD and Inkscape yet again), ripped out all the doors and so forth. Then I centered it (Blender) placing some of the hatches around and added some battle damage, before carelessly dumping the pack off Garin's Space Marine in the dirt for extra effect. I'm utterly clueless as to the best way to print this beast; wide open to suggestions. I'm going to test out Meshmixer and see if its settings look more favorable than the Simplify3D defaults. If a supported model materializes, I'll upload it or else I'll just saw off some additional overhanging bits with even more damage! 12/5/2015 Update: I've uploaded a new (unsupported) version of this thing. The previous (v9) edition had a cavity under the rear hatch that looked great while printing but was entirely unnecessary. This updated one scrubs out that hole and smooths up the bottom surface. 12/3/2015 Update: The supported model still has some major flaws in terms of holes, however the unsupported model appears completely clean. I printed the supported version, patched a couple of tiny areas with green stuff, but you might instead want to start from scratch with the unsupported model and go from there. 10/12/2015 Update: There are just a few tiny pinprick-sized holes throughout the model that don't preclude printing entirely but require some TLC; I'll upload an updated one when I get a chance to fix them. If you're bursting with excitement and can't wait, then go for it -- they're not that big of a deal. I've uploaded a version of the model using Meshmixer's built-in supports feature. This baby actually prints okay! Not totally perfect, but it looks pretty snazzy nonetheless. I'll upload some finished shots once I've got them polished up a bit more.
