RHD CS nozzle for Prusa MK2.5S / MK3S w/LED lighting
thingiverse
This version of the RHD nozzle fan duct is LIT! I wanted to do two things: 1. provide nozzle lighting so I could get a better view in the camera for whether the first few layers were laying out (at all). 2. provide on-camera visualization that the filament sensor had tripped Inspired by a Thing (which I can't find now; of course) where the designer soldered an LED to the MK3S filament sensor to indicate status, I decided to use a white LED going to the fan duct. I chose the RHD CS nozzle duct for the expected ducting advantages it offers, and added a socket for a 5mm LED. I chose this: [UL Wire] Chanzon 20 pcs Pre-Wired 5mm White LED Diode Lights (Clear Round Transparent Lens DC 12V) with 560 ohms 1/4W Resistor and 24awg Wire Indicator Light Emitting Diodes Lighting Bulb 5mmled I chose white PET-G to get some additional illumination from the single LED I used, but might try with black or Prusa orange if I decide to redo. It all works as expected: the filament sensor trips, and the nozzle LED lights up. I do not condone modifying the sensor board to power an LED; you may damage it in the process. PROCEED AT YOUR OWN RISK. ATTENTION: THIS DUCT REQUIRES AN ADDITIONAL BRACKET FOUND ON THE ORIGINAL DESIGNER'S POST. Pleas them some love for making this possible.
