A right circular cone has a base diameter of 35 millimeters and an axis length of 50 millimeters, resting on one of its generators on a horizontal plane with its axis parallel to the vertical plane. To draw its projections, first visualize the cone's orientation. The axis is parallel to the vertical plane, meaning it extends straight up from the base. Since the base is in contact with a generator (a line extending from the vertex), we can infer that the generator lies on the horizontal plane. Now, let's consider the front view. The front view of a right circular cone will show its circular base and the axis as an extension upwards. Draw a circle to represent the base, then extend a straight line upwards to indicate the axis. Next, focus on the top view. In this perspective, the base is not visible since it lies on the horizontal plane below the viewer's eye level. Instead, we see only the circular cross-section of the cone at the level of its vertex. This will also be represented by a circle in the drawing. For the right-side view, visualize the cone as seen from the side where one of its generators is parallel to the viewing plane (the horizontal plane). The axis extends upwards, and the base appears as a semi-circle because it's partially cut off by the edge of the cone. Draw a circle for the base but shade or darken only half of it to indicate that part which is not visible in this view. Lastly, consider the rear-side view. This will be very similar to the right-side view, except that the generator on which the cone rests is now parallel to the viewing plane from the opposite side. Once again, draw a semi-circle for the base but shade or darken only half of it. By combining these views, you can accurately draw the projections of the given right circular cone.
