Here is the rewritten text: Another striking example of the "headless" genre appears in Preclassic sculptures from Sin Cabezas, Casablanca, and Rancho el Cardonal near Laguna de los Cerros, Veracruz. For some reason, all known examples had their heads deliberately removed in ancient times, leaving behind enigmatic bodies of seated characters on broad bases. Currently on display at the Museum of La Democracia, I would like to express my gratitude to the museum staff for their kind assistance.
