Rey's New Lightsaber

Hey everyone! February 2, 2020: This is the last update (4.3) for this post, and I'm excited to share the next update will be a brand new saber! Blade, electronics, rechargeable - the whole package. I'm working on getting the blade to glow exactly as I want it to right now because I want to make it look amazing. You can see in this recent update how the top cone is swappable, and this feature will be used to turn the saber on and off in the final version. Small note, the top cone needs to be printed twice, and you add the very top section to the cone. Also, all cones don't require supports. These are the magnets I use to keep the cones connected to the saber (5x2mm refrigerator magnets): https://amzn.to/301m1U4 January 28, 2020: Big update! The gear now spins to turn the saber on! The new saber parts have 3.0 in the name so it should be easy to identify them. I still want to make a top that is opened up for this in the future, but for now, this will hold everyone over. Note: Don't print the top piece with supports having 45-degree or less supports because inside the shaft of the saber there is a 45-degree angle. Happy printing! December 23, 2019: I just made some changes to some dimensions that I believe make the saber more accurate to the movie. Larger diameter, slightly shorter cones on the end, slightly shorter leather/cloth wrapped section, and a slightly larger hole in the middle so it's almost exactly one inch (I figured it would be better for people who want to add blades). Also, I changed the way the two pieces interlock with each other so it looks cleaner. I left the old files here if you like them better; you can print them. This project is not completed yet! I plan to add a clicking switch mechanism for the gear, so you can flick it on like in the movie! After that, I may add fins in the open position where the blade extrudes, so stay tuned! December 22, 2019: So I uploaded pictures of what my print looks like, and I'm modifying a couple of dimensions very slightly (it's honestly really close right now; you probably won't be able to tell any discrepancies), and I'll update the files in the next three days. I'm hoping it will be complete before Christmas! First edit: I moved the gear to switch the saber on down the handle by two millimeters. Also, it definitely needs supports. It prints well when the saber blade is facing straight toward the bed of the printer. This is Rey's new lightsaber! For some reason, the pictures are stretched, but it's really not that pudgey. I'll upload pictures of my print when it's finished. I believe it's the first public version in the world; it may not be exactly perfectly accurate, but it's the best I could do with absolutely no reference material. Before any of you start shouting about "it's the same as the end of her staff," it actually isn't. It is very similar, but there are quite a few minor changes. I'll maybe update my description later, but for now, I just want to get this out there before anyone else does. Will print this ASAP and let you know more. Now the size I believe to be correct, but I may scale it up or down a bit depending on how it looks post-print. If one of you fellas gets to it before me, leave feedback in the comments! Also, the middle section should be covered up by some cloth of some kind. REMEMBER if you are going to print and sell this, please just give me artist credit; thank you so much! Also, tips are always nice.
