The Burke & James No. 3A Rexo was a versatile folding bed camera engineered specifically for large postcard format roll film. Equipped with a single extension bellows, it offered users an impressive range of creative possibilities. The cast metal front standard frame enabled both vertical and horizontal shift movements, giving photographers precise control over their compositions. This innovative feature allowed the front standard to be adjusted vertically via a chrome-plated lever on the lens standard, while horizontal adjustments were made using a knurled screw that secured the lens standard frame in place on the slide. The entire slide/lens-standard unit could be pulled out of the camera body and onto the folding bed rails, where it locked into position for effortless infinity focusing. A strategically placed knurl at the folding bed allowed photographers to fine-tune their focus down to a mere 6 feet. Two finger grips on the slide served not only as comfortable handholds but also functioned as convenient unlock levers.
