The shaft snap-in mounting points were way too tight when printed. They all broke trying to fit them together. I didn't want to sand anything or mess with it. So I broke off the remaining mounting points on both sides. They break off clean with pliers. I designed a slightly thinner and a complete circle mounting bracket to encompass the shaft entirely. You will need 4 of each to do the entire project - or 2 for one side. I printed them vertically, but I should have printed them horizontally. They would be much more structurally sound. The only downside to this solution is you will need 3d Gloop to weld the pieces in the correct spots. Those spots, by the way, will still be visible when you break off the original mounting pieces faintly. I could have been more fancy and designed different mounting brackets that clip together and fit into the bases (with modified bases) but this works in a pinch. Please keep in mind, the hole that this creates when the two pieces are placed together has a bit more room than needed to give absolutely no friction resistance. The shaft, as a result, may feel a bit jumpy. It does not affect my gameplay, so I did not go back to reduce the hole side to make it more accurate.
