Revolving Filament Guide
prusaprinters
After a year or two of the printer collecting dust on top of a cupboard or two under the stairs, my wife donated a matching cupboard and suggested that it be used for the printer. I ended up designing two versions of the printer holder - a full-sized one in black remix from other designs, and a shorter one. These versions can be interchanged if desired.Using a cupboard to store the printer has some advantages - it keeps dust off and prevents drafts from affecting the print bed. However, the cupboard was not deep enough, so I had to put the printer on draw sliders to make it slide in and out easily. Also, the cupboard was not tall enough to accommodate the usual filament holder. The first version of the holder, printed in black Petg, was full-sized. However, I later found it was too large, so I designed a smaller-sized version in orange Prusament. The roller is wide enough to hold a 1kg roll of Prusament, and the arm hanging down is shorter. The holder has five screw holes, two of which are set at a slight angle to aid in securing it to the cupboard roof. Since the cupboard roof is made of fibreboard, the angle helps to keep the holder more secure. The holder only needs to turn 90 degrees from the more usual position to parallel to the back of the cupboard.I used support and decided on a 20% fill for the Prusament version and 15% fill for a generic Petg version. For the bolt, I used an 8mm x 25mm bolt and 608 bearings. However, if you prefer, you can find some printable 608 bearings on the Printables website that have good reviews.
