Revolving Base for Lithophane Cube - Alternative Lamp Holder Base
thingiverse
I had trouble locating the light fitting used in the original model, so I customized the base to accommodate a lamp holder that I bought on Amazon. You can find the lamp fitting here: https://amzn.to/38RC8qG. The base will require modification where the cable cutout is located, or you'll need to remove the outer protection sheathing from the cable. I chose to use a Dremel to enlarge the cutout so that the cable would fit. I added a test file for the lamp holder to ensure it fits into the base plate without having to waste hours printing the entire thing. It's a very snug fit, and you'll need to "screw" the bottom of the lamp holder into both the test piece and the final base plate to secure it in place. UPDATE - 13/03/2020: I modified the design of the lithoplatter because the bulbs I found online were too long. After some searching, I discovered these LED bulbs that fit perfectly: https://amzn.to/39O93gl. The plate has been extended downwards to sit inside the base, allowing for the use of a longer bulb and adding more weight to keep it stable.
