Revolver Thumb Ring

Revolver thumb ring designed for metal casting and metal 3D printing. Most rings are modelled with a US size of 8, which has a diameter of approximately 18.14mm, making it ideal for scaling up without compromising wall thickness in most metal 3D printing processes. To scale a ring to fit your finger size, use Meshmixer, a free software from Autodesk. Import the ring and navigate to Analysis/Measure from the left menu. Choose Type: edge to edge and Direction: outward (n) under Snapping mode: Snap to Vertices. Select the inner diameter of the ring and you'll see a red line and a reading on the right side. To scale up, go to Edit menu/Transform and increase any size value while checking Uniform Scaling. Repeat the measuring process until you achieve your correct finger size. Once complete, export the model as an STL Binary Format, which is recommended. To achieve a similar polish/finish as the rendered ring image with its dark cavity, print the ring using vintage/antique silver from i.materialise. This is currently the only method available; however, you can also experiment with oxidizing silver at home by searching YouTube for "how to oxidize silver at home."
