After thoroughly revamping the cable chain system, I've determined that a redesign of the fundamental cable chain link itself is in order. Since every single new design I created has been fully reversible, it finally hit me that I needed to engineer the entire chain to be reversibly functional - this way, when laid flat, the chain won't inevitably curl and will grant users much greater flexibility on the fly.
