I recently purchased a G1W dash camera, but my excitement quickly turned to dissatisfaction when I encountered the bundled suction mount. It was bulky and too noticeable, blocking my efforts to install the camera discreetly behind the rearview mirror. This basic mounting solution, roughly half the height of its suction-based counterpart, enables users to conceal their cameras more effectively. As an improved alternative to my initial design attempt, this version is already making a difference. To assemble this innovative mount, one must combine a #6 screw with two washers and a nyloc nut. Secure the device firmly by applying double-sided tape (3M 1" VHB tape being a highly recommended option) directly onto the windshield glass surface.
