Revised iPhone 6/6s Plus Horiz Stand
thingiverse
Here's a brand new take from scratch, but deeply inspired by the original "iPhone 6 Plus Horizontal Stand (Works with or without Case)" created by jprovidenza. When I printed out the original and attached it to my phone, it was pure awesomeness. Great job done by jprovidenza! However, three significant issues caught my attention: First, the side flaps would flex outward at an angle when installed, giving them a weird appearance. Second, there wasn't a rear flap, allowing the stand to slide up and pivot in the back, resulting in poor phone security. Third, the back of the original stand was curved, causing the support point to be directly in the center. Unfortunately, this led to iPhone 6/6S Plus phones toppling backwards due to uneven weight distribution. So I decided to put my creativity to work using Autodesk Inventor, which I absolutely love. With just ten minutes of my time, I created a new version that addresses these problems: First, you'll notice the tabs that snap over the ends of your phone are angled inward at the tips when not on the stand. When installed, they bend outward and appear perfectly straight. Second, a supporting bar has been added to each side flap to provide extra support to the iPhone's back, keeping it securely in place without pivoting upward. Third, the back of the new stand now features a rounded rectangular shape, providing two wide rest points rather than one in the center. This significantly improves stability. I'm thrilled with how well this improved stand performs and hope you'll enjoy using it as much as I do.
