Reverted pendulum (3D)

Reverted pendulum (3D)

Experience a dynamic simulation using Autodesk Inventor 2014 that considers gravitational force as an enhancement of my previous 2D project, "Metronome (Reverted pendulum)." The updated design features an additional spring connection and a novel joint with three-dimensional spatial rotation offering three degrees of freedom. Uniquely, the third rotation can be locked around the vertical axis via a set screw. This locking mechanism is necessary for optimal performance. The pendulum traces a thin Lissajous curve on a sphere centered at the bottom joint. Both .iam and .ipt files are provided for Inventor users to access the Dynamic Simulation environment and adjust settings as desired, allowing them to test the functionality in real-time. Notably, the spring animation is exclusive to the Dynamic Simulation module and cannot be transferred to Inventor Studio. As an alternative, a static version of the 3D reverted pendulum with springs is available for rendering purposes. This file utilizes the Design Acceleration module to calculate spring behavior in each position but maintains non-compressible springs. Enjoy exploring these innovative designs!
