Reversible Francis Pump-Turbine Test Rig

A mid-sized, reversible Francis pump-turbine is housed within a metallic storage unit that also features two filtration systems and a V-shaped weir. This turbine's semi-open impeller comes equipped with a transparent window and six pressure ports spread across the runner's face, in addition to adjustable guide vanes. The turbine's inlet water head and discharge suction head are monitored using pressure and vacuum gauges, respectively. A user-friendly control panel operates the test setup, which also includes a tachometer for measuring speed, a force gauge for power calculations, and a centrifugal pump to supply water flow. Bronze and steel compose the main components of this system.
