Reverse Engineering tasks #6 Intake manifold

grabcad

In reverse engineering task six, you'll tackle the intake manifold. If time is critical and the scanned part seems challenging to model manually, consider using software like Geomagic Design X, Rhino (T-Splines plug-in), or Autodesk Inventor (MeshEnabler plug-in) for auto-surfacing. Although this method can be much faster than manual modeling, customers sometimes dislike the "patchwork surfaces" created. Despite their sufficient accuracy, some clients remain hesitant to use them. Before using auto-surface, preprocess the scanned mesh by repairing holes and optimizing adaptively based on curvature to ensure a better result. Attached are the source file (STL*) and an example of an auto-surfaced model; good luck!
