Artist: Jen Allen terracotta, automotive wire, zipties Trina was an unforgettable sparkplug. Her laugh was instantly contagious and thunderous. A truly exceptional elementary school teacher, she won the hearts of her students with ease. For those who knew Trina and her husband Boomer, their love story was a timeless classic, unfolding when Boomer's family moved to Trina's street during their childhood years. Although she may have faced a losing battle against cancer, Trina emerged victorious in life, as evident in her remarkable family, blossoming students, and dear friends. Her passing has left an enormous void in the fabric of our community, and certainly in the lives of her loved ones. This piece for the Bodice Project is a tribute to Trina's memory. It features a handcrafted terracotta bust form inspired by historical ceramic and stone bust forms traditionally created to honor significant/beloved individuals. A pink warrior necklace made from everyday materials takes center stage, draped elegantly over the bust. I firmly believe she would have given her full approval.
