Revell/Zvezda 1:2700 Star Destroyer replacement garbage chute
thingiverse
This is a customized garbage chute designed for Revell/Zvezda 1:2700 Star Destroyer models that lack a built-in garbage chute. It's based on reference photos of the Imperial Star Destroyer featured in Empire Strikes Back, where the Millennium Falcon hides from the Empire. The intricate details make it challenging to print with an FDM printer; I use a Photon S SLA printer for this model. To assemble the chute, cut a rectangular opening approximately 15mm x 6.6mm and slide the piece into place. When sanding, maintain a steep angle due to the chute's parallel orientation to the floor, not the angled back of the Star Destroyer, which is roughly at a 57-degree incline. For visual guidance, search for videos on YouTube showcasing similar modifications to other garbage chutes. This design can be scaled up for larger models as it includes more details than my Photon S SLA printer's capabilities allow. The included STL file comes in two versions: the raw model and a version with supports that worked effectively. If you encounter issues with importing the model into Prusaslicer, setting the scale to 2540% should resolve the problem. This adjustment results in dimensions of 17.78mm x 17.03mm x 8.44mm for the completed chute.
