The Details of the Fortaleza de São José de Macapá. Fortaleza de São José de Macapá is located in Macapá, Amapá, Brazil. It's part of a group of 19 fortifications nominated for UNESCO World Heritage status by Iphan/Unesco. Situated on the banks of the Amazon River, it defended its Northern Channel. Due to its size, two separate models were created: the Revelim and the Parade Ground. Our team conducted an archaeological investigation outside the fort and recovered several external defense structures.
