Recycle coffee and tea from k-cups into wide mouth mason jars. Mix with compost or garden soil. Compatible with where a lid for a wide mouth mason jar fits. Not suggested for individuals with sensitive allergies, as mold is likely to form if frequently used, which may cause sinus congestion, though it's unlikely. It works well at my parents' home since they don't often use the Keurig. A friend tested this project in his office using a large (half-gallon) mason jar and filled it up about twice a week. This item can be mass-produced with injection molding if you're planning to start a company, (Keurig Green Mountain, take note!). Otherwise, create these for the environment, obtaining good coffee fertilizer while saving waste from entering the landfill! These print settings yield about 1.5 hours of printing but can withstand a lot of use... The quick settings will print in around 40 minutes and work fine for a few weeks, but they may break because the layers will fatigue; it's not recommended, but suitable for demonstration or offices where users drink less coffee. Note that unless your plant is relatively large, straight coffee on potted plants can be deadly. You should mix it with dirt first and let it break down naturally. If you don't have a fan on your 3D printer, install one! Just drill a small hole in the printer's frame right in front of the extruder. Use a 12V, 80mm computer fan mounted on its corner (like a diamond) with one 4-40 x 1.25-inch machine screw/nut, powered by an old 5/6V cellphone charger. If you don't use a fan for this print, it will be fine until it reaches the top point, then the point may become misshapen. With proper cooling, it still functions well. For better results: * Use a fan. * Choose 100% fill settings. * Run the extruder at 235°C with PLA (a higher temperature produces a smoother surface). * Set five shells and an 80°C build plate. * Adjust layer height to .2mm and z-offset to .3mm, leaving supports as recommended. To remove blue tape from your aluminum build plate, preheat it to 110°C after finishing the print. Quickly peel off one layer of tape in one piece by placing it against a cold surface until it cools down completely... For quick prints: * Choose 100% fill settings. * Run the extruder at 215°C with PLA. * Set three shells and an 80°C build plate. * Adjust layer height to .4mm, z-offset to .3mm, leaving supports as recommended. If your filament is printing poorly, dry it out using flower drying silicate in open pint zip lock bags next to the spool of filament inside a larger gallon zip lock bag. Peace.
