Rev's LTD Test Box
thingiverse
So I'm still rather obsessed with making lightboxes, and wanted an easy way to see how different LEDs and different materials would look for the translucent aspects of the print. While I was working on saving a template to streamline the process for the boxes themselves, I realized I could just make a miniature box to find out. The box has holes on two sides and a little retainer clip in the middle which will hold an LED strip in position for where I would position it in a finished box. It's a bit loose, but that's so you won't accidentally damage an SMD strip when inserting/removing it. The accent strip on the box isn't strictly necessary, but since that's how I print the final product it's how I printed the test box. The test strip prints a series of 0.20mm steps in 20x20mm squares, ranging from 0.20mm thick to 1.6mm thick with 100% infill and the same line widths I'd use on a final print. The box has a loosely recessed lip to hold it in place. Insert the LED strip and drop in the test print strip to see how it'll look. Any 40x80mm test piece will fit here cleanly. In the example pictures, I'm using a 5V red COB LED and a 5V gold COB LED with eSun Green PLA+. "Rev's LTD Test.3mf" is a prepared Bambu Studio 1.7.4 project file that has everything in it, the other two are just geometry files from Fusion.
