Rev 2 Hands Free Round Door Handle Squeeze Latch - under 2" Dia

thingiverse

This adapter latch is designed for attaching to a round door knob so you can open doors without using your hands. This reduces the risk of Covid-19 or other virus transmission. Hopefully. I got the initial idea from adapta Adaptaio on MyMiniFactory, and I've also posted it there. To accommodate various knob sizes up to 2", I modified the design to use a 3D printed squeeze clamping latch instead of a zip tie style. I printed this adapter with Clear ABS on a Zortrax M200 at 90% fill and 0.09 mm layers, but you can also print it with up to 0.29 mm layer thickness after cleaning the holes. To minimize support material, position the parts for printing at an angle of 35% or more. There are two versions of this adapter available: one that requires a Clockwise turn (CW) to open and another that requires a Counter-Clockwise (CCW) turn to open, depending on your door type. No hardware is needed for installation. However, be cautious when squeezing the clamping latch downward because if it's too tight, you might need to rotate the pin and move it out one groove before retrying. If the adapter is still too tight after adjusting the pin, it will pop out of the Latch Handle Pivot points.
