Our robotics team positions two REV Expansion Hubs horizontally in parallel along the robot's central axis, secured to two 15mm REV extrusions. This arrangement leaves a 30mm space between the hubs, which is precisely the right size for our REV 12v battery. The battery must be mounted on its short end to fit snugly, resulting in a taller configuration than the expansion hubs. This setup also creates some space at both ends of the expansion hub. To prevent the battery from sliding around, we designed a spacer with screw holes on both sides that connect securely to the expansion hubs. The spacer is perfectly sized to keep everything firmly in place.
