Reusable Safety Knife

thingiverse

This safety knife uses standard utility blades readily available at home improvement stores. It's still a Work In Progress, awaiting test printing and user feedback. Feel free to print it and report back with your results or suggest necessary changes. Your printer will need to be highly accurate for this project, as the cover clearance is quite tight (100 microns on each side), despite the 30-degree overhangs being relatively moderate. Let me know what you think! UPDATES: 03/23/2017: v2 files uploaded - the blade's length has been slightly increased to improve internal fit. If adjustments are still needed, please let me know. Original files remain available for those who want to experiment with them. Print Settings Printer Brand: LulzBot Printer: TAZ 5 Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 125-250 micron layers Infill: Approximately 30% Notes: Infill levels depend on perimeter settings, as more perimeters will reduce the required infill. Ensure your printer is well-calibrated, as there's minimal clearance for the cover (200 microns total; 100 on each side).
