Here is a reusable mold for a silicone boot designed specifically for the Wanhao D6/Monoprice Ultimate printers, courtesy of original files generously provided by 1bigpig. This mold can be effortlessly assembled and disassembled. Moreover, I have increased the size of the cutouts for the hot end and nozzle to ensure a snug fit. Sanding significantly improves both the fit and aesthetic appeal of the cast. I opted for Mold Max 60 from Smooth-on, which is specifically formulated for pewter casting and boasts a stable temperature range up to 294C. Additionally, I recommend utilizing their Universal mold release for optimal results. As I predominantly print with PETG at temperatures reaching up to 240C, I have noticed some minor H2O and ETOH evaporation during the curing process when initially heating these molds. However, there are no signs of degradation or unpleasant odors since posting this update, even with continuous printing. This mold's flexibility allows for easy access to the screws securing the heater and thermistor in the heat block. I have updated and corrected previous mistakes, and added an alternative mold design for the bottom part of the heat block that provides superior insulation and directs cooling airflow towards the nozzle tip. To create this mold, I mix 30gr/0.9ml A/B components of Mold Max 60 and divide it evenly to fill three molds.
