This mask was modified from the design online at: https://www.billingsclinic.com/foundation/3d-printed-surgical-mask/. That site provides additional information on the development of the files, giving further credit to the original authors. The modifications offer a few improvements I thought needed when trying out the mask myself: 1. More sturdy tie points for better tolerance 2. Increased depth for a better fit 3. An increase in size of filter area to improve breathability The outer shell of the mask is meant to be reused, with an insert to secure filter medium. A HEPA product with preshrunk cotton overlay will likely be used as the filter medium. It can be changed as needed. *The 3D printed mask information presented here is intended to assist the general public during the current global pandemic related to COVID-19 and the related nationwide shortage of personal protective equipment.
