The Reuleaux triangle featured in a Wikipedia image was used as the film advance mechanism of the Soviet Luch-2 8 mm film projector. This unique shape has been incorporated into various models by me, including the Positive Return Cam Mechanism, Reuleaux Triangle Gear Coupling Mechanism, and Reuleaux Triangle Intermittent Pins Mechanism. These creations were modeled using Solidworks 2016 and rendered with Simlab Composer 8 Mechanical Edition. Frames were edited in Virtualdub, saved as AVI/X264 and BMP files. Video was remuxed to MP4 with MyMP4BoxGui, Gifs made with PhotoScape, and renders edited with IrfanView. The models are available in multiple formats, including 3D-PDF and SIMLAB, which are both animated.
