"Retrobright" Key Cap Stand (C128, Amiga)
thingiverse
Designed for Mitsumi style key caps on Amiga and Commodore 128 series keyboards, this holder ensures keys stay properly aligned even when submerged in liquid developer solution (also known as RetroBright). By doing so, old yellowed keys regain their near-new color appearance after exposure to UV light, typically natural sunlight. To facilitate submersion, I attached multiple galvanized joiner plates from the local hardware store to the bottom using hot glue. Additionally, L brackets were secured in place with hot glue to aid handling when submerged (see instructions below). Keys snap firmly into holders but may become loose after use. To restore grip, simply apply a gentle heat gun application and lightly pinch the plastic while it's softened, which will refresh the holder's grasp on the keys.
