Retro Sci-fi Rocket
thingiverse
I'm glad this design will keep my air plant thriving. I wanted a decorative piece that would showcase the beauty of rocket science, so why not create something truly unique? This project was all about rapid prototyping and making quick adjustments as needed. In just two evenings, I designed, printed, re-designed, and printed the final parts. The design consists of an outer shell, preferably made from a semi-transparent material, a pressure vessel core in a contrasting color to the outer shell, an outer fin with a perimeter, and a fin inner infill. CA glue is used to attach the fins to the body, while the fin inners simply snap into place if your printer is set up correctly. Each of the four pieces can be printed quickly, taking around four hours total time if you can switch filaments and restart immediately. I know my plant isn't visible yet, but I'll show it off when I'm back at work. Print Settings: Printer: Original Prusa i3 MKII Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.20 mm Infill: Spiral vase Body: 20% Honeycomb Fin inner: 100% Fin outer: 100%
