This design is heavily influenced by the Sega Game Gear, with dimensions and screen size carefully matched to create a more ergonomic experience. The goal was to improve upon the pigrrl 2's limitations, making it easier to hold and providing increased battery life, HDMI connectivity for dual viewing, and eliminating the bothersome speaker hum that plagued its predecessor. This design incorporates a teensy for controls, offering true analog joystick functionality rather than a D-pad like other projects. I drew inspiration from various projects, selecting only the features I liked while discarding those I didn't. The result is a device that allows users to integrate their own PCBs, available at an affordable price of $5 per set. This design's release as open-source content aims to spark interest in this project and pave the way for future designs. The provided files include two types of D-pad options due to printing issues with one of them lacking a central hole. Additional components needed for assembly are listed below: 1x Raspberry Pi 3 - Model B 1x Adafruit Mono 2.5W Class D Audio Amplifier - PAM8302 1x Breadboard-friendly SPDT Slide Switch (ensure correct measurements before ordering, as non-standard switches were used) 1x Lithium Ion Polymer Battery - 3.7v 2500mAh (cylinder type, resembling AA batteries) 2x Mini Metal Speaker w/ Wires - 8 ohm 0.5W 1x PowerBoost 1000 Charger (a smaller screw will work with a 500mah variant) 1x 16GB sandisk or samsung class 10 SD/MicroSD Memory Card with retropie/attract front end (download link can be provided due to difficulties in getting the lcd to work properly) 1x 3.2in TFT lcd for raspberry pi (cheap ebay options often suffice) 6x 6mm Tactile Button switches 6x 12mm Tactile Button switches (with removable keycaps) 10x #4-40 3/8 machine screws 4x #2-56 3/8 machine screws 1x ribbon cable for jumper wire connections and possibly 22 gauge wire for the analog stick Print Settings: Printer: Flashforge Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: .2mm Infill: 10-20% Notes: Print speed settings were 40mm/sec for the first layer and 60-80mm/sec for subsequent layers. Due to high temperatures, temperature recommendations are not provided. Post-printing adjustments can be made as needed.
