Retro/ Art Deco GPO (powerpoint)

If you buy an older house, say built in the art-deco style - you generally like to keep the look of that period. If not already done, you replace the old gal-iron plumbing, you upgrade the old cotton-covered-in-steel-conduit electric wiring. But to keep the retro look, you would like to retain those art-deco bakelite light switches and power points. Unfortunately the old ones are probably damaged, degraded and unsafe - but CLIPSAL (division of Scheider) have a solution - almost! Their ICONIC range of switches and GPOs come with removable "skins". The advantage of these ICONIC units is there is no need to remove or "interfere" with anything electrically live. Unfortunately, all their skins are "modern". This project was to see if I could develop a retro-style replacement skin to keep the art-deco look. I have included the original drawings in .DWG format for further development/ refinement if you wish. Also included is a photo of the bakelite GPO that was my inspiration.
