Retracting Dust Sled
grabcad
A hose-connected sled rides within a 4" schedule 40 pipe, featuring a collar and pipe end. The sled accommodates a 2.5" hose equipped with a friction-reducing sleeve. This current pipe setup measures approximately 20 feet in length. The opposite end includes a 3" female cam lock connector, collar, and matching pipe end. However, the initial handle broke within five minutes of installation. All components are fabricated from ABS using FDM technology and fit seamlessly with McMaster hardware. Dowel pins may be substituted by plastic counterparts for bearing purposes. In an early iteration, standard nuts and thread lock were utilized instead of nylocks; regrettably, the thread lock compromised the ABS material. Cam lock fittings will be discussed in a separate project publication.
