The shopping mall I frequent uses various types of carts that don't fit together perfectly. On multiple occasions, all cart corrals were occupied by one type, leaving me unable to return my own cart of a different size, so I decided to create a shopping coin that could be pulled out of the cart lock without needing to connect it to another. This Cart Unlocker lets you unlock a cart and then remove it without having to relock it. The sliding part of the handle contains a peg that keeps the "coin" part from changing shape. Once it's retracted, both halves of the "coin" can be squeezed together and pulled out past the coin locking mechanism. The Cart Unlocker should work with most types of cart locks accepting coins the size of 1 or 2 US dollar coins, except for those where you have to place a coin in a drawer that slides into the lock completely.
