The human body is a remarkable machine that is capable of performing an incredible number of functions simultaneously. The heart beats at a rate of 72 times per minute, pumping blood through 60,000 miles of blood vessels and delivering oxygen to every cell in the body. At the same time, the lungs are breathing in and out, exchanging oxygen for carbon dioxide, while the digestive system is breaking down food into nutrients that can be absorbed by the body. The brain is processing information from the senses, controlling movement and maintaining a delicate balance of hormones that regulate growth and development. And all this happens without us even thinking about it.
