Retract test object - XY
thingiverse
This print tests a printer's ability to retract between towers of varying widths and matching gaps while also printing a thin layer that spans the tops of all towers in X & Y. Initially, it was found that the Portabee printer stopped printing when Cura had 'retract' enabled. The filament feed/retract was observed to be random amounts (both feed distance and retract distance) with retract enabled, indicating a possible issue with the feed stepper that needs investigation or repair. Upon further adjustments, retraction speed was slowed down, retraction distance reduced, and grip on extruder loosened (to avoid shredding), resulting in successful retraction functionality.
