Retinol binding protein (RBP) from PDB file 1RBP
thingiverse
Retinol binding protein is a blood serum transporter that binds retinol (vitamin A) for transport through the body. As a hydrophobic molecule, retinol requires a protein transporter with hydrophobic amino acid side chains within its interior barrel and hydrophilic, charged side chains on its exterior surface. To demonstrate protein structure and function to high school students, UCSF Chimera was utilized to manipulate the PDB file 1RBP, with retinol displayed as spheres and key hydrophobic residues shown as sticks. After exporting the scene as a .stl file, it was opened in Autodesk Print Utility, optimized, and sent to MakerWare for 3D printing with specified settings.
With this file you will be able to print Retinol binding protein (RBP) from PDB file 1RBP with your 3D printer. Click on the button and save the file on your computer to work, edit or customize your design. You can also find more 3D designs for printers on Retinol binding protein (RBP) from PDB file 1RBP.
