ReTerminal Mount for MakerGear M2

ReTerminal Mount for MakerGear M2

I recently purchased a ReTerminal by Seeed Studios, with the purpose of installing OctoPrint and OctoDash to control my MakerGear M2. After getting the Octo twins installed and configured on the device, I was struck my the lack of ReTerminal things available in the wild. Looking around, I found a thing by andres_nun that looked to be usable with minimum redesign so I set about creating this. Fearing the size and weight of the ReTerminal might be a bit much for the pressure fit connector between andres_nun's original coupler and arm, I removed it and created a space instead for a M5 bolt and heat-embedded threaded barrel. You'll need a soldering iron to use it. I also thickened the coupler so I could counter-sink the M5 bolt from the underside, as well as the M4 bolts that secure the coupler to the MakerGear from the top. Finally, I increased the size of the hole at the end of the arm to allow for a standard 1/4-20 tripod screw. I found a 1.25" bolt fits perfectly. One last note, I also own an Ender 3 Pro and I think this is a usable mount for any 2020 or 2040 extrusion printer. Just replace the two M4 nuts with M4 t-nuts and it should attach to those printers just fine. Only potential issue I can see is the coupler and/or ReTerminal getting in the way of the Z axis on some printers... On the Ender 3 Pro, I found the only usable location to be the front-right side where the factory LCD is mounted and the rear-left, behind the Z axis. Either should would work. Hope you find this thing helpful!
