Retaining band holder for luggage compartement cover [Toyota Aygo 2005-2014 / Peugeot C1]
myminifactory
The original holder for the retaining band of my luggage compartment cover stopped working on my 2008 Toyota Aygo. It worked like a barb, with a hole in the luggage compartment cover that got worn out over the years until it wasn't holding anything anymore. I designed a replacement part to fix this issue. I used a washer and a screw made for use with plastics to attach the new holder to the underside of the luggage compartment cover. A cord with a diameter of 4 mm is knotted to the holder, and a slipknot on the other side attaches it to the boot lid. I recommend using a bowline knot for both ends of the cord for extra security. This way, you can remove the cover as easily as before. Now, when I open the boot lid, the cover goes up again, which is very convenient. I printed the part on an uncalibrated printer, and there's definitely room for improvement in terms of print quality. Since I'm selling my car soon, I won't be printing it again. I used FreeCAD 0.17 and Simplify3D to design and print this part. The STL, STEP, and FCStd files are attached so you can easily adjust the dimensions using FreeCAD if needed. If you have any questions or have already used this part, please leave a comment and share a picture of your make. I'd be happy to help and see how it works out for others. Unfortunately, I'm not sure about the proper model years regarding the Peugeot C1 in relation to my Toyota Aygo's model year. If someone knows more about it, please let me know so I can edit the title accordingly.
