Retainer Tray Invisible Braces Aligner Tool Remover Hook
thingiverse
After three weeks of struggling to remove my lower Invisalign retainer, I finally found a solution. One thing led me to print a custom tool that would fit perfectly in my case, and a square design seemed like the way to go - it would be easier to print than a round one. I made sure this tool was completely customizable, so you can open it up in OpenScad and adjust the size and angle to suit your needs. I had to dig deep into trigonometry to get it just right, but it was worth it in the end. One thing to keep in mind: ABS is not food safe, so use PETG instead. If you're at all concerned about chemicals or bacteria buildup, consider buying a commercial tool rather than printing one. Some 3D printing nozzles may even contain lead, which is a major concern. If you're looking for alternatives, I've included some links to check out: you can find custom Invisalign removal tools on Amazon, and if you want to learn more about food-safe 3D printing, there's plenty of information available online.
