Retable of passion, Brabant, Brussels, around 1490-1500, original polychromy preserved. Oak construction remains intact. Partially reworked gilding is visible, but shutters are now gone. Located in the Musée du Cinquantenaire (Brussels, Belgium). Created using ReMake and ReCap Pro from Autodesk. Multiple techniques were employed to create the original polychromy, including brocade decor for Mary Magdalene's clothing in the scene of the Crucifixion. Red lacquered paint accentuates the gold on some characters' clothes, while fine hand-painted patterns add depth. The edges of garments feature small dots and tiny metallic fleurons adorn the cross of the Crucifixion. This domestic altarpiece was likely intended for a convent or wealthy individual's altar.
