Restenneth Priory photographed from ground level

Historians believe this site was once home to a Pictish church, likely built around 710CE. The current standing structure dates back to roughly 1200, although records suggest the priory existed for at least a century prior. In 1100CE, Alexander I transferred the annuls of Iona here. Robert the Bruce laid his infant son, John, to rest within these walls in the 1300s. The tower stands approximately 14 meters tall. The model was generated from over 809 images taken directly from ground level. Various methods were attempted to refine the mesh due to missing details at the top of the walls, which reach about 20 feet high. Ultimately, it became clear that leaving things as they were presented a neater appearance. These photographs were captured during two separate visits to the site using a Nikon D5300 and an 18-55mm kit lens.
