Respirator Face Mask

This mask is designed to be reusable, helping the wearer avoid infection from others while also protecting those around them if they become infected. The mask itself requires additional support, unlike other models. To make cutting the filter material to size easier, a template has been uploaded for use. This template serves two purposes: it helps shape the filter correctly and doubles as a spacer between the filter and the knob, preventing wrinkles from forming in the filter and allowing you to keep the template with the mask at all times. In choosing a filter, I selected a Filtrete Furnace Filter by 3M, which boasts a Micro Performance Rating of 1550. Since these furnace filters are fiberglass-free, they make an ideal choice for this application. A 16 x 25 x 4 furnace filter was purchased and cut into smaller sections to be used in the mask.
