Respirator adapter for 3M 5n11 filters

This adapter fits 3M half-mask and full-mask respirators with the standard "bayonet" style connector. It lets you use the 5n11 style replacement filter media instead of expensive cartridge style filters that are hard to find. A 3M 603 adapter and 3M 501 filter retainer can be used, both of which are compatible but currently difficult to locate. This design was modeled after a 3M 603 adapter I already own, and it fits perfectly. The 501 style retainer may need to be scaled for a tight fit or taped in place if necessary. A separate bayonet connector is included to allow the part to be properly indexed to the mask, providing additional clearance required for a good seal with many respirator styles. Each side must be in the correct position for it to conform to the mask. I added single-piece designs with L and R versions, but these may not provide enough clearance for many 3M respirators. ***DISCLAIMER*** There has been no laboratory testing done to confirm the effectiveness of this design. However, a qualitative mask fit test using stannic chloride was passed by an OSHA-approved method. There is also concern that 3D printed parts cannot be effectively sterilized due to their micro-porous structure. Use this at your own risk after exhausting all other approved PPE supplies.
