Resized LM8UU bearing in PLA to fit RepRap machine
thingiverse
As people have pointed out in the comments on this post, the diameter of the barrel on these bearings is 15.7mm when it should be 15.0mm for a RepRap machine and probably many others. I loaded the original STL file into OpenSCAD and trimmed some off the diameter, also adding a slight bevel to both ends just like the original metal bearings. Because this thinned the internal walls down a bit, I've also decreased the internal diameter for the fins, but retained the 8mm diameter for the rod connection. Following advice from MiguelPynto, I added in grooves to the sides so that these bearings can be used where those grooves are needed on the original LM8UU bearings. The new version 3 files have these grooves. Print Settings Printer Brand: RepRap Printer: Prusa i3 Plus Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 200 microns Infill: 100% (strength)
