Resizable Loose Filament Spool

Resizable Loose Filament Spool

thingiverse

This hexagonal spool design allows for easy resizing using stackable spokes, fitting various widths of loose filament spools. The spool works with both Replicator hub mounting and external spool holders. It features a central hub that spins around the axis of support and brackets at each spoke's end to hold the filament loop securely. To assemble, print either the Replicator or external hub, followed by three brackets for optimal fit. Estimate spoke length by positioning hub and brackets, ensuring spokes are printed vertically for strength. Spoke size ranges from 5mm (for fine prints) to 20mm (for USA-sourced filament). Note that the fit of spokes into the hub and brackets depends on print resolution, and filament should be loosely fitted on the spool for smooth unwinding. Due to space constraints, larger New Zealand coils can only mount on the left side of the Replicator.
