Resistor Decade Box

Resistor Decade Box

thingiverse

The experimenter's resistor pseudo-decade box is a versatile tool that can be built on a budget using two precision "ten turn" pots of different values and a hard-coded resistor in series. This setup provides ample flexibility for the experimenter, who can choose from a range of options to suit their needs. I personally use a 1k Ohm pot, a 50k Ohm pot, and a 1M ohm hard-coded resistor, which offers a multitude of possibilities. If needed, you can bypass or replace the last 1M resistor via banana jacks. The knob options are numerous, but I'm particularly fond of this openSCAD design (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:54024), which has received well-deserved kudos from many users. Feel free to make it your own and customize the project to suit your preferences!
