Resistive Decade
thingiverse
Compact 6-digit resistive decade build with two optional range dials per step, spanning 1Ohm to 100kOhm (1 - 11.1MOhm) or 10Ohm to 1M (10 - 10.11MOhm). All resistors are directly soldered between switch pins 1-2, 2-3, 3-4... 10-11. Other wires connect in series: terminal 1 connects to switch 1's middle contact, switch 1 pin 1 connects to switch 2's middle contact, switch 2 pin 1 connects to switch 3's middle contact, switch 3 pin 1 connects to switch 4's middle contact, switch 4 pin 1 connects to switch 5's middle contact, switch 5 pin 1 connects to switch 6's middle contact, and finally switch 6 pin 1 connects to terminal 2. Parts: - Resistors used: Vishay MRS25 Series Axial Thin Film Fixed Resistor ±1% 0.6W ±50ppm/°C, 10 pieces per value (1/10/100/1k/10k/100k or 10/100/1k/10k/100k/1M) - 6 standard 12-position switches, 1P12T, RS26-1-Pole-Position-12-Selectable-Band-Rotary-Channel-Selector-Switch, latched at position 11 - 6 x 20mm diameter shafts with 6mm diameter knobs, preferably screw-type for better position adjustment - 2 x 4mm thread banana binding post terminal connectors - 6 x M3*10 tapered head bolts or similar size self-tapers A 0.5mm hole misalignment on one side was fixed on the box top on April 27, 2018.
