Resistance band wall mount / anchor
thingiverse
Been working on building my own home gym and came up with this design for a resistance/exercise band wall mount. New model features smoother edges, which should help reduce damage to the resistance bands and your fingers. I've tested it under heavy stress, but haven't managed to break one yet - that's about to change soon! Printing Details: Important: Place the model on its side with the logo facing up. Slicer Settings: Prusa Slicer Resolution: 0.20mm Raft: 3 layers for added protection around the side fillets. Vertical shells: 3 Top and bottom shells: 5 and 4, respectively Infill: 25 to 50% Infill pattern: Gyroid Printer: Prusa MK3 Material: Tested with PLA only, which is remarkably strong due to the Gyroid infill. Print times: At 25% infill, prints take around 2 hours and 40 minutes. At 50% infill, prints take over 4 hours. The Gyroid infill pattern makes the part surprisingly robust without significantly increasing print times. However, USE THESE MOUNTS AT YOUR OWN RISK - they've never broken in my testing, but their strength depends on many factors that only you can truly judge. The design incorporates screws that enhance the part's strength along the axis it's being loaded, making it theoretically very strong. I mounted them to a stud using 3-inch deck screws I had lying around. The holes should accommodate any fastener under ¼ inch (7mm) with a head less than ½ inch (14mm). Recommended Fasteners (not fully tested yet): * 3 1/4" long screws with a head size of 5/16" and a shaft thickness of 1/4" Test them before pulling too hard on them! If you have ideas for making the mount stronger or any other improvements, please comment below. Happy exercising!
