Resin Spinner
thingiverse
I 3D printed these parts to make a Resin Spinner. The idea is that you can thick coat an object and the spinner will tumble it so that the resin will not run off due to gravity. It is the same principle that keeps honey on a honey spinner until you stop twirling it. I don't know what the motor came off of. It is from Taiwan and is heavily gear reduced. It can take up to 12 volts, but I power it with a 3.3 volt 2 amp phone charger. I have a 500 k ohm pot that gets mounted in the utility box to tweak the speed a small amount. This was sized to hold pinewood derby blocks so that the cars could receive a mica-resin gloss finish.
