Resin Infusion Vacuum Inlet 6mm and 8mm

A versatile 6mm and 8mm vacuum resin infusion port. Recently, a shortage of 6mm pipe prompted me to design a new part that could accommodate 8mm pipe as well, offering users both options. Rather than simply scaling up the existing part at the slicer, which would have increased its size by 33% - a wasteful use of plastic - I opted for a more efficient approach. This innovative port replaces reusable silicone ports and is engineered to distribute vacuum evenly. Its low profile design eliminates the need for pleats in the bag, ensuring a seamless fit. A built-in stop prevents overinsertion of the pipe into the cloth, maintaining optimal vacuum distribution. The tight fit on the pipe is intentional but can be adjusted by increasing the part size by 1 or 2% if necessary. These ports are my go-to choice and can be produced for approximately 10p using a standard 3D printer that requires no support material. Printing time is roughly 20 minutes, making them an ideal solution for resin infusion projects.
